This Titan's history is known since new when it was purchased from Harvey Snow, the Titan U.S. importer in Gilroy, California. The car has also been maintained by the same people since 1970. The car was stored in 1977 and had not been run again until restoration was completed in May, 2012. On May 30, 2012, the Mk5A was track tested and fully sorted. The car is now race ready. In period, the Titan ran a total of 20 races. The SCCA log book comes with the car, along with the trophies won.
This Titan Formula Ford has never been crashed. It weighs 900 lbs. without fuel. 6 ½ lb. fire system. New Dunlop Spec. Ford Tires; OE Armstrong Shocks and Springs. New Revolution Wheels and Dunlop light weight steel wheels. Every piece on the car is either new or rebuilt. AN hardware throughout.
Chris Steele Cortina Engine, which has never been raced. New Dave Bean crank, HD rocker shaft and stands, etc. 1970 Derrington exhaust system includes one straight, baffled and trapped pipe and an additional open megaphone for increased power at uncontrolled tracks and Automotive Developments intake air horns.
The chassis has additional engine bay bracing, and the pedal box has been lowered 1”. The frame is also fitted with full length aluminum belly pans. The seat is aluminum, 1” wider than standard. The car also comes with an O.E. fiberglass seat. A complete set of factory blueprints comes with the car. The car has new custom built 12” high support trestles, and a chronometric tach. The car comes with O.E. mirrors as well as new Raydyots.
The Hewland gearbox has been converted to 5-speeds to enable car for autocross, hill climbing, etc. The Titan has a new fuel cell and the O.E. tank. All body pieces are new, made from molds taken from original bodywork. The new paint is red and midnight blue.
