As reported by Registry of Corvette Race cars: "This car goes back to the early 60's as always a race car. Pat Ryan, noted SCCA driver in the 70's restored the car and vintage raced it in SVRA. Sold the car in 1996 to Ron Mast in Atlanta, where he ran it a few times." Then sold to the current owner who continues to race the car in historic racing events.

The Registry of Corvette Race Cars states the following:
"It is very interesting to note the vin 1009 is 25 cars made before vin 1034 that we believe was the #3 Sebring 1957 factory race car. This car has many original race parts on it, including original HD brakes and springs. These parts were added after production."
