1975 Williams FW04 Formula One

At the beginning of 1975, Williams built the first FW04, chassis #1. This first car used Hesketh, wheels, uprights and nose. The car was raced mainly by Jacques Laffite.

At the end of 1975, Williams constructed a second FW04, chassis #2. This car was distinguished by its rear radiators. Lella Lombardi qualified FW04 #2 for the 1975 US GP, but did not start.

In 1976, both cars were purchased by Brian McGuire. He raced them both in the British ShellSport Championship, capturing a victory at Thruxton. In 1977, McGuire entered chassis #1 in the British Grand Prix, but did not qualify. Unfortunately, he was later killed in chassis #2.

Chassis #1 and parts of chassis #2 then passed through ADA engineering to Peter Denty. Peter Denty later sold the car through Roger Hurst to the current owner in the early 1990’s.

The complete chassis #1 is now available in a disassembled condition. The tub does have a kink from a shunt at Oulton Park. Some parts from chassis #2 are also included with chassis #1. A complete listing of the parts is set forth below.
