1985 Reynard Formula Ford 2000/Formula Continental

Complete project with spares

Sold

History

The car comes with log books back to 1988 showing many SCCA regional and national races in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Description

The Reynard is a great project car, especially for the do-it-yourselfer. It is basically a complete car (the front wings are there, but are not currently installed), and needs a complete going through.

The biggest issue appears to be the Hewland Mk.9 gearbox case, which has a crack in it near the top. It could be welded, or the internals can be installed in the spare case that is included with the car.

We have no information on the current status of the engine. It appears to be a correct 2 liter, Pinto-based, Formula Ford 2000/Formula Continental racing engine. It is very clean. It may, or may not, be rebuilt. We just do not know at this point.

According to the seat belt expiration dates (2009), the car has not been raced for a long time. Having said that, it appears to have been properly stored, and probably somewhat recently stripped down to the bare frame, repainted, and reassembled.

The car comes with some spare disassembled wheels, spare rear wing elements, partially assembled spare front wings, and more smaller items.

This is an affordable price for a very cool car.
