Fresh 4.2 liter Teran Motorsports engine

POA

History

Chassis number 1E 10523.

The Jaguar’s racing history prior to 2016 is currently unknown. It was purchased as a racing car out of a private collection in Florida in 2016. In 2019 the car was transported to Donovan Motorsports in Lenox, Massachusetts to be evaluated, and some upgrades were installed including a dry sump lubrication system.

In 2021, the Jaguar was sold to a well known vintage racer in California. The car was tested and raced several times before an engine problem developed. Then the Jaguar was taken to Teran Motorsports in Willows California for an engine rebuild and chassis refurbishment and setup.

The Jaguar returned to the track at the CSRG Corkscrew Classic, June 20-22, 2025. The car ran beautifully with no issues. It also ran a 1:50 lap still during its break in and shake down period. There is considerably more time in the car.

Description

Teran Motorsports rebuilt the E-type’s 4.2 liter engine with triple, twin choke, 48 DCO Weber carburetors. The engine was converted back to its period correct E-Type wet-sump racing configuration with a fully baffled pan for period authenticity. The dry sump system that was previously in the car will come with the car and can be refitted if desired. Engine build receipts and dyno sheets available upon request.

The E-Type is equipped with a lightweight fiberglass bonnet fully wired for functioning headlights, and an aero-style plexiglass windscreen. The car is equipped with a fully structural roll cage for safety and performance. The gearbox has also been gone through and the car has a new clutch assembly. The Jaguar is equipped with an aluminum radiator with electric fan, and an oil cooler. The oil and fuel lines are braided steel.

The E-Type also comes equipped with Tilton brake master cylinders, and 15X17 Minilite wheels. Braking is by 4 piston calipers in the front with vented rotors, and the traditional Jaguar-style inboard brakes in the rear. The Jaguar is also equipped with an ATL fuel cell and a SPA Technique, FIA-compliant, fire suppression system good through 2028. The electrical system, suspension, and brakes were gone through three years ago by Donovan Motorsports with very little time on the car since.

The Jaguar is both beautiful and fast. It is also now fresh and reliable, the best way to buy a race car so you can jump in and enjoy it right now. So if you have ever dreamed of racing a classic Jaguar, this is a wonderful opportunity. We have been fortunate enough to have raced them ourselves. They are as spectacular from behind the wheel as they are in the paddock and in your garage.
