2011 Lola B11/83 – LMP2

History

Level 5 Racing Team Lola B11/83, chassis number HU05. This is the ex- Christophe Bouchut, Scott, Tucker, and Joao Barbosa car. The Lola finished 3rd in LMP2 at the 2011, 24 Hours of Le Mans, and 10th overall.

Thereafter in 2012, Black Swan Racing acquired the Lola for drivers Tim Pappas, Jon Fogarty, and Bret Curtis. They  finished 8th in class at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Their last race in the Lola was in the ALMS race at the Long Beach Grand Prix. They qualified 5th overall, but DNF’d.

Description

The Lola is constructed with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and double wishbone push-rod suspension. It has a Lola/Hewland gearbox and hydraulically operated paddle shift system.

The Lola was initially powered by, and raced in-period with, a 2.8 litre turbocharged Honda Performance Development V6. It has since been re-engined by BBM Sport with an equally period correct, normally aspirated, Judd DB, 3.4 liter normally aspirated V8. Runing with the Judd permits easier access to servicing, rebuild and spares support via UK and U.S. based engine builders. The Judd has zero hours on it, providing at least two full seasons of Masters Endurance Legends racing before an engine hours-rated rebuild would be considered. The engine change also included a period-appropriate rooftop ‘snorkel’ air intake, which is an original Lola part.

All suspension components have been crack tested and powder coated. Several other ‘lifed’ components have been replaced as well, including the replacement of the fuel cell.

The car is presented in its 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours Livery with all period-appropriate vinyls including the original scrutineering stickers.

The car is ready to go.
