History

Pro built E-Production Alfa Spider. SCCA and Vintage eligible.

Well known Alfa racer, Al Leake, prepared and set up this E-Production Spider when it was purchased by the most recent owner.

The Alfa was last raced in 2018 at Sonoma Raceway with CSRG. Since then the owner has passed away and the car is now being sold by his estate. Fortunately, one of the owner’s friends has considerable knowledge about the car, and will be happy to share that information with any interested party.

The Alfa will come with a SCCA log book dated back to 1981.

Description

The Alfa is complete, with all the parts necessary to reassemble the car. It will also come with a considerable amount of spares.

The body has been sectioned 3″. It has a fiberglass hood and trunk lid, and a removeable front splitter. There are no dings or scratches on the body. The chassis is also very clean and tidy, and has fully adjustable racing suspension. The car is equipped with a fuel cell, but will need updated belts.

Another plus is that the Alfa will fit a tall driver. The previous owner was 6’3″.

Engine:

  • Terry Tinney 2 liter full race spec motor, 2 hours run time
  • Custom profile cams

  • Race crank lightened and balanced
  • 48 DCOE weber carbs
  • Single wire alternator
  • Race clutch

Exhaust:

  • Various straight through or muffled systems on equal length manifolds

Transmission:

  • Schwitter 5 speed dog box

Axle:

  • John Norman modified rear axle with limited slip diff.

Brakes:

  • Slotted and drilled disks all around
  • Ferodo pads / race fluid

Interior:

  • OMP race seat (older model) no belts
  • Full instruments with chrono rev counter
  • Fire system (out of date for SCCA)
  • Small race wheel

Trunk:

  • Fuel safe cell (older)
  • Battery in trunk

Wheels:

  • One set of Panasport, one set of Campag 4 spoke
  • Various tires (as pictured below)

Spares:

  • Additional pair of DCOE 45 Carbs, with jets and chokes
  • 3 additional race clutch and flywheel sets
  • Complete engine gasket set
  • 4 sets of new Ferodo pads
  • Spare caliper and brake master cylinders
  • New 123 distributor
  • Many springs sets, rear swing arms and suspension parts
  • Steering track arm spare
  • Carb air boxes, valve covers
  • Various body and engine parts
  • Spare pump, transmission case, rear axle casing

  • Box of body and interior trim from the original car

The Alfa is located in Reno, NV.

The car can be delivered for a small fee within 200 miles, or collected from the location in Reno.
