Description
Correct factory team “high tail” bodywork designed by Frank Costin for the team cars. The rear bodywork still shows signs of repairs made after Dickson spun the car at Tertre Rouge, hitting the back of the car, and beaching it in the sand. It took Dickson more than two hours to dig the Lotus free and get back to the pits.
Chassis 514 also still has its factory correct Morris live rear axle, and finned aluminum drum rear brakes. These were fitted to this car to reduce transmission losses at Le Mans. The car also has the later, more desirable, Lotus XI double A-arm front suspension, as well as Girling front disc brakes.
Included with the car is a spare set of racing wire wheels.
The Lotus is in excellent condition.
