Description

At the time of the prior sale in 2018 the following was reported by the prior owner:

We have had this car since 2011 and raced it 8 weekends. It had a fresh Ivey engine when we bought it. It was recently refurbished after a 3 car incident, The suspension is fully rebuilt, New wishbones, uprights, steering rack, all heim joints in front and wishbones and heim joints in the rear. The bodywork has been stripped to bare fiberglass and repainted, The nose cone has been replaced. It has been cornerweighted aligned, and bumpsteered. I have a set of steel wheels with mounted Dunlops that come with the car as well. It is on the button and ready to go. All work on the car was done by a professional race shop. It is a great example of a vintage FF ready for years of racing enjoyment.

Since the car was purchased in 2018 it has been used in one test session. The owner decided he was not comfortable with an open wheel racing car, so it is now available for sale.

Below are current photos of the car, taken in 2022.

The Royale RP16 were very successful cars in period. RP16s won races in the highly competitive BARC (British Automobile Racing Club) Championship at the hands of Alo Lawler, Geoff Lees, and Richard Morgan. Morgan went on to capture the BARC Championship for 1973, and Lees would use his success in the RP16 to vault him into F1 and Le Mans.

This is a great opportunity to pick up one of the top Historic Formula Fords at an inexpensive price and go racing in 2022.
