1957 Lotus Eleven Series 1 Le Mans

Description

Originally a two-seater setup from new. The original screen is still with the car. It is believed the original body was badly damaged so when restored in the eighties, a completely new nose and rear section were ordered from Williams and Pritchard and it was converted to a single-seater setup.

Originally the engine was a Coventry Climax FWA (1080cc). Now the car has the larger FWB motor (1098cc). Dedion rear end, powered by a Coventry Climax FWB with twin 45 DCOE Weber carbs. Gearbox is Sprite ribcase. Maintained by JR Mitchell of GMT racing.
