Sold
History
This is Dizzy Addicott’s 1963 Boxing Day class winner at Brands Hatch. This is also the first rear engined Elva sports racer and the only factory built Alfa powered Elva.
The car was constructed under a special arrangement between the Elva factory and Alfa. Elva redesigned the rear bodywork specifically for this car to accommodate the Alfa engine’s shape and size.
Description
The Elva is powered by a 1300 c.c. Giulietta Veloce based engine with twin 40 DCOE Weber carburetors. The Alfa power is driven through a Hewland Mk.I, four speed, tail shifter gearbox. Braking is by four wheel drum brakes on the 4.5X15 inch front wheels and 5X15 inch rear wheels.
