1966 Jaguar E-Type, FHC Race Car
Sold
History
This E-Type racing car was originally built to racing specifications by Bill Terry of Terry’s Jaguar Parts in Benton, Illinois, in 1995. The car, finished in British Racing Green, was raced by Terry’s at Sebring, Road Atlanta, Moroso, Daytona, and other tracks throughout the mid/late 1990s.
Thereafter the car was rebuilt and refinished by Predator Performance of Pinellas Park, Florida. It raced again through 2005. At that point the owner became ill and the car was parked. In 2012 the Jaguar sold to a new owner who made several significant upgrades and improvements to the E-Type.
In 2013 a new full roll cage was installed by Predator. A new Fuel Safe fuel cell was also installed in 2013, along with an upgraded fuel delivery system. A major engine rebuild was performed by vintage Jaguar racing experts, Donovan Motorsports, in 2014. A new Tremec T5 close ratio five speed gearbox was installed. New Afco double adjustable shocks were added. A Donovan Motorsports rear suspension upgrade, with ventilated rear disc brakes and cooling ducts, was installed. Also newly added was a Cobra Carbon Fiber Race seat.
The Jaguar was then track tested at Lime Rock in 2014, and is now ready to go. The car comes with log books with entries from HSR, SVRA, and SCCA. Super nice car.
