1968 Corvette

Great SVRA and VSCDA car.

Major price drop to $45,000. The car will be sold.

History

VSCDA log book.

Most recently raced in 2021, and 2022 at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (“PVGP”), the current owner’s most local event.

The car was prepared, entered, and set to race, including new tires, for the 2023 PVGP. Unfortunately the driver injured his shoulder the week before the event and was unable to race. The car remains in that race-prepared condition.

Description

The paint is good all around but there are a couple areas where it is lifting. It is a race car with the patina of a race car, not a show car.

The brakes are Wilwood – 6 puck front, and 4 puck rear. It has a cockpit adjustable brake bias.  with dual readouts on bias settings (see photos)

The 350 cubic inch engine was built by RCS in Pittsburgh. It has a Dart Chevy block, steel forged crank, forged racing pistons, H beam rods, and more. It was completed 7/12/21. The engine dynoed at 543.7 h.p. and 439 lbs. of torque. The dyno sheet can be seen in the photos below. The cost was $25,004.81. A complete parts list is available. There are under three hours on the engine since.

The gearbox – is a proper Corvette 4 speed Muncie “Rockcrusher” transmission.

All work other than the engine build has been done by Fowler Automotive Street and Track. The Corvette has a full complement of gauges and a Proform shift light. The fuel cell, fire system, and belts are all current. All receipts will be included.

The tires are brand new Proxes R889R.

The Corvette is located in the Pittsburgh area.

Subtracting out what has already been spent on the engine alone, $25,000, you are getting a classic 1968 C3 Corvette vintage racing car for the cost of an average Corvette street car with needs. You can’t replicate this Corvette for $55,000.

There are still some great SVRA and VSCDA events coming up. You can put this Corvette on the grid right now and run up front.
