History

The BT29’s early history is currently unknown. It carries a chassis tag of BT29-23.

The Brabham’s vintage racing history from 2012 onward is known, and is highly successful. The car has won at Indianapolis, Road America, and at the Circuit of the Americas among other venues. The BT29 consistently runs at the front, including against pro drivers.

In 2024, the Brabham competed against the best Formula B cars in the U.S. At a showdown at the SVRA National Championship at the Circuit of the Americas in November, 2024, Tonis Kasements drove this black BT29 to victory over Geoff Brabham, David Brabham, and Matt Brabham in a hotly contested four way battle right to the finish. You can watch the Sunday final race at SVRA COTA SpeedTour FB Race. The race starts at the 6:05:15 mark on the video timer at the bottom of the video screen.

Description

There are two race weekends on a new Jay Ivey twin cam engine. It has twin 45 DCOE Weber carburetors and a Titan dry sump system with steel braided lines. Electrical power is generated from a Varley Red Top battery, and ignition is by Pertronix. Cooling is handled by an aluminum C&R radiator. The Hewland FT200 gearbox has only three race weekends on it since a full rebuild.

All spares are in excellent, not worn out, condition. These include, among other things, spare gear ratios, and two sets of mag wheels.

The Brabham BT29 is a top car to have in Historic Formula B. This particular BT29 is probably one of the finest in the U.S. as is evidenced by its results. It will be an excellent car to contest the 2025 Formula B Continental Championship, the SVRA National Championship, and other FB races throughout the U.S. and abroad.

The Brabham is currently located in the midwest. We can help you with shipping quotes both domestically and internationally. Just let us know your location, or nearest port.
