History

Nike founder, Ken Nicholls, began building racing cars in the early 1960’s. They consisted of everything from Formula Vees, Formula Juniors, Formula Fords, Formula 5000’s, sports racers and more. Approximately 100 cars were constructed.

The Mk4 and Mk6 Formula Fords were built in the late 1960’s and in 1970. Approximately 12 Mk4 cars were built and approximately 20 Mk6 cars. The car offered here is one of the Mk6 cars, #70-09. The Mk10 Formula Ford came along in 1971, and Nike continued to build and sell Formula Fords through 1979.

This particular Mk6 has had the same owner since 1977. Last raced with SVRA in 2022.
