1972 BMW 2002 – Group 8 SVRA Front Runner

History

Front running Group 8 SVRA car. Second owner. Campaigned on East Coast at all the major tracks and a few regional tracks. Most recently raced at the SVRA National Championship at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, finishing 5th in class.

Description

Approximately 10 hours on a $15K engine refresh. Balanced/blueprinted and flowed. 12.1 compression. Webers, Electromotive HP. Billet aluminum rockers. Custom Arias 90MM pistons, etc. 180+ horsepower and torque at the wheels. Good for another 30-40 hours. Fresh Metric Mechanic rebuild of the 5spd. gearbox originally built by Metric Mechanic with special ratios ($4K).

The chassis has the big brakes, Ireland half shafts and stub axles, coil overs, new differential, and shortened TII struts. The BMW also comes with many thousands of dollars in driver aids, including a Traqmate, GoPro, Kool Suit, Recaro seat, Hans device, a fire suppression system, 6 point harness, etc. All safety equipment is current.

The car has an annual SVRA tech. Everything works and it has all fresh fluids. The BMW also comes with the following spares:
