History

This 1979 Porsche was built to RSR racing specs by former Historic Sportscar Racing (“HSR”) president, David Hinton.

David Colbert would be the Porsche’s driver at the 2021 Classic 24 Hours at Daytona. Colbert and the Porsche finished 2nd overall in the Group B race.

In April, 2022, Colbert was again behind the wheel, this time at the Historics Sportscar Racing (“HSR”) Weathertech Sprint Race at Sebring. The pair would finish 5th overall in the Group 5 race.

In March 2023, the Porsche competed at Sonoma Raceway at the Classic Sports Racing Group (“CSRG”) David Love Memorial Races. Robert Thull brought the Porsche home 6th overall and 5th in Class C.

In May Rob was back with the Porsche at the SVRA Trans-Am Speedfest at Laguna Seca. There Rob brought the Porsche home 14th overall and second in the 6RSR class. In October 2023, Rob raced the car again with CSRG, this time at Laguna Seca. There they came home 15th overall.

The Porsche, having raced from coast-to-coast with multiple historic racing sanctioning bodies, is now offered for sale.
