History

1974 Zink Z-10-A, chassis number 032-345

Currently the known history for the Zink goes back to the 1990’s, when the car was raced by Darrell La Rue in SCCA Cal Club events in Southern California. La Rue was a consistent winner and podium finisher, scoring podiums in 14 out of 15 races. The Zink’s log books go back to 1992, and will come with the car. The Zink was then put into indoor storage in 2003, after the car’s last race at an Arizona Region SCCA event.

In 2018, the Zink was purchased by its current owner. Upon purchase the car was stripped to the frame and a four year rebuilt/restoration was in order. For details on the restoration, please see the Description section below.

After the restoration was completed, the Zink was shaken down and set up over two days of track testing. The car was raced a total of four times, including with CSRG, the Crossflow Cup, and HMSA
