1976 Hawke DL15 Formula Ford

History

The Hawke DL15, with its aerodynamic inboard rocker-arm front suspension, was one of the Formula Fords to beat in 1976. Derek Daly and Derek Warwick both won rounds in the British and European FF championships. They also finished 1-2 in the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch.

Today, the Hawke DL15 is a competitive Club Ford in SCCA, VRG Club Ford, the Crossflow Cup Series, SVRA, CVAR, VARA and with many other vintage racing groups across the US and Europe. 

This Hawke DL15 raced with the VRG from 2013-2022 at Lime Rock, NHMS, Watkins Glen, Thompson Speedway, Palmer, PVGP and NJMP. The car’s most recent race was at Thompson in 2022.

Description

The Hawke was the subject of a complete frame-up rebuild in 2013 at Ric Racing. This included a fresh powder coating, new radiator, new radius rods, new electrical system, new floor, new master cylinders, brakes, new rose joints, transponder (#1446970), and many other features. The MWE engine currently has low hours on it. Invoices and dyno sheets are available.

Records, including a logbook (SCCA Club Racing, Identity 097- 065) back to 2004 will come with the car.

Spares:

2 sets of 4 – Weller Wheels with Dunlop treaded tires (one set of the Dunlop tires is currently equipped).

2 sets of 4 – Revolution Wheels with Hoosier slick tires.

Suspension (uprights, rocker arms, wishbones, links etc.).

Brake disks, calipers.

Coolant radiator oil.

Radiator oil tank.

Gear ratios (20).

Batteries (including Varley red top).

Kwik Lift Jack Fuel bottles.

Extra DL15 space frame chassis, cockpit, nose cone, engine cover, rear wing.

Good condition, one corner has duct tape to hold the corner of the outside sheet, see photos below. Please note the red craftsman box is not included.
