The photos show the original floor pan removed and new floor installed with epoxy using the original rivet holes to maintain integrity. A new stiffer center divider was installed with honeycomb that mounts solidly to the top of the rear bulkhead and continues to the front of the tub to increase chassis rigidity. The tub was additionally modified with a bracket to mount a rocker support rod. New front rocker support rods were installed to provide extra support and prevent the rocker from moving fore and aft.
The steering rack was disassembled, cleaned, inspected, crack checked and straightened. The threads were repaired, new end bushings installed, and the rest of the rack was rebuilt.
All suspension parts were repaired, crack checked, rebuilt, and recoated like new. The rear suspension was assembled with new aircraft bolts of proper length. New rod ends and spherical bearings were also installed. All shocks were also rebuilt. GMT recently updated the rear suspension to stronger components – prepped to the same spec as the David Porter S2000.
During the restoration the transmission was also rebuilt. The oil tank was cleaned and all threads repaired.
A new custom made wiring harness was prepared and installed with teflon wire, soldered ends, and covered with heat shrink.
Johnny from RJ Engines (ex-Cosworth) just rebuilt the engine with a new crank and new Swift oil pump (the pump cost $900.00 alone). The engine rebuild cost was $8800. The engine has one event on it.
The Swift comes with a spare nose, 2 tail/wing assemblies and 2 sets of wheels.
This is a highly prepared, championship winning, Sports 2000. The money has already been spent, and the quality is in the car and its race-proven results. This is a car you can race at the front now. The seller is looking at another car and needs to make room, so the Sports 2000 is going to go.
