1990 EuroSwift SE-3 FC/F2000

Recent Rebuild, Ready to Race with Spares

Sold

Description

Manufactured by Swift UK, the “Swift Europe” SE cars were built under license from Swift USA. The car evolved through the years to meet unique British requirments with one of the most noteable being the known forward-swept front rocker arms. The cars were successful in both the UK and the USA with propular drivers such as Jimmy Vasser competing in SCCA with an SE-3 in the late 1980’s. While many of the cars in England were competing with the popular Ford Zetec 2 litre engine, the US primarily competed with the Ford Pinto 2 litre popular in both Formula Continental/Formula 2000 and Sports 2000 of the period.

History

This 1990 EuroSwift SE-3 was recently rebuilt by Jack Crone during the COVID period, with only 2 sessions since completion (invoices available). The car is on the button and ready to race with the exception of tires and the normal routine race prep. The car is equiped with a Ford 2 litre Ivey engine (with dyno sheet), an LD200 gearbox, with Penske shocks on the corners. The rebuild included an entire brake system rebuild (master cylinders, calipers, lines), new radiators, new battery, new safety belts, new paint and graphics, and Ceracote ceramic coating on suspension, exhaust and wheels.

The cockpit is completed with a Momo open top steering wheel, a Halon fire system, and cockpit adjustable brake bias and rear sway bar. The car includes both high and low downforce sets of wings, 2 sets of extra side pods, extra suspension A-arms (7), extra wheels (2 front, 1 rear), and a hardwired AMB transponder. There are hundreds of photos throughout the various stages of the rebuild (available on request).

The car incldues several spares consisting of numerous suspension shear points, nose box, and brake parts. In addition the car comes with extra engine parts including an unprepped block, head, with clutch, intake, valve cover, and more.

You will have many of the necessary pieces of pit equipment as well including a booster battery, PBS quick jack, PBS short car stands, and tall adjustable roller stands. The owner of the car is a professional driving instructor and will include driver instruction in Southern California to the buyer at Buttonwillow Raceway.

This is a good solid car for vintage or regional racing and track days and was prepared with the intent of running for many years to come. However, as with many things in life plans have changed, so the car is up for the next owner to take advantage of this exceptional car.
