2011 Cadillac CTS-V.R Coupe (Pratt & Miller)

2012-2013 World Challenge Series Championship Winning Team

$295,000

History

Building on the success of Cadillac’s CTS-V 4-door sedan race program in the mid to late 2000’s, GM commissioned Pratt & Miller to take the new Cadillac CTS-V Coupe and produce a race car for the Pirelli World Challenge Series GT class.

With only eight months of development by Pratt & Miller, the CTS-V.R Coupe debuted in the 2011 season and was a dominating success taking the 2012, 2013, and 2014 Driver’s Championship with drivers Andy Pilgrim and Johnny O’Connell at the helm, and taking back-to-back Manufacturer Championship titles in 2012 and 2013.

The production Coupe went from just over 4200 pounds to a fit racing trim of 3200 pounds for the three cars produced by Pratt & Miller. The development success was due to not only the legendary race proven success of Pratt & Miller, but also a close engineering partnership with Cadillac and GM leveraging GM’s earlier racing success to keep the build within the strict specifications of the SCCA Pro Racing Rules governing the class. Here is an in-period video explaining in detail the development of the CTV-V.R by Pratt & Miller (Video Link)

Chassis #1 and #2 were campaigned by Johhny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim respectively with Jordan Taylor racing Chassis #3 at the 2012 and 2013 Mid Ohio races with Taylor taking a podium the first race in the car beating out his teammates. Here is a hot lap with Jordan at the wheel with entertaining commentary by both O’Connell and Pilgrim at the 2013 Mid-Ohio race.

Today Johnny O’Connell’s car No. 3 is in the GM Auto Museum, Andy Pilgram’s car No. 8 is with a private collector, and the No. 5 car driven by Jordan Taylor with a podium finish at Mid-Ohio is the car offered here. Note, the No. 5 car was also the team spare car and show car when not actively racing and sometimes displayed the No. 11 when off the track.

The current owner had the opportunity to purchase the car directly from Pratt & Miller, with the entire team spares package included! He has actively campaigned the car with great success. Over the course of 5 years, 35 events, and 150 race sessions he has only missed 2 races due to mechanical problems. The car is very reliable, easy to drive, and very dependable. If you want to race a fast reliable car, with team championship winning race heritage, and have enough spares to completely rebuild the car if needed, this is the race package for you. If there is any doubt as to the race readiness of this car, here is a video from Road America 2023 of the car in action (Video Link)
