Original 1962 Cobra Engine & Transmission

Below is the description of the engine and transmission from the owner:

Period correct 289 Shelby Cobra Street Engine. Comes with Cobra transmission and period NHRA racing bell housing.

Rebuilt in 2016, by Savannah Race Engineering to period specs for a 1962 Shelby. The engine dyno shows 350 h.p. at the crankshaft. The engine has dyno time only on it.

The engine features an original C40E block, original cast rocker arms, and cylinder heads (1964) with 3/8″
screw in studs. It also features original valve covers with breathers and labels.

Mounted on top of the Cobra intake manifold are four 48 mm Webers. An MSD small cap distributor was added to enhance performance.

The original crankshaft was replaced with a steel crankshaft. The engine also has forged connecting rods and pistons. The whole engine is complete to the rear of the block.

The transmission is complete and original for a 1962 Shelby Cobra. It includes a very rare NHRA, 5 bolt, cast iron bell housing used in period for drag racing.

The Transmission is stamped T10B-7 and T10B-1. The Bell housing is stamped COBRA. The bell housing is stamped NHRA APP STEEL. It is also stamped WEDGE F2-3, C3RA, 6394-A.

The engine and transmission can be purchased together or separately.
